| ORIGINAL Oil Painting on canvas measuring 16 x 21 inches (excluding framing area ).This painting was painted in 2003 and has hung in the artists home since completion. This painting depicts a bonded pair of eclectus parrots (Eclectus roratus), also known as "Red-sided Eclectus".Their natural habitat is Indonesia. Males are predominately green with a slight orange tinge on their heads, with an orange top mandable with black on lower beak. The side of the birds body as well as the under wing coverts are red with blue plumage at the sides of the parrots wing. Females are predominately red with a purple band across the lower breast and abdoman. Roy first starts with photographs, then drawings of his subject matter and proceeds with the oil paintings.
